The clocks in the cartridges of most Gold, Silver and Crystal games would have died in around 2007-2008, but some might still be running! Basically, the time feature ceases to function and the save files are deleted continuously, it's described inevitable and the estimated lifespan is 7 years. Does your internal clock still work? Do you have a functioning Gold, Silver or Crystal cartridge? Post about it.

No, I don't.

Why do the clocks die out?

They just wear out. Seven years is pretty good for such a small electronic part though.

Awesome.

If the old game has been deleted then the clock is already dead. Sometimes a new game will be saved for a while before it completely breaks.

The old game was done but the new game works fine, I kept saving and switching off and back on just to try it. But if that will get deleted, then... dammit x:

I still have mine. Pokemon Silver and Pokemon Gold working perfectly and the clocks are still up and running. Please note that I've been playing with it for a long time, as in, I've been playing with it ever since I was 6 and still going on.

Sister's Silver/Crystal MAY work.

My Gold did the same as Stardy's.
